Two brothers, one 9 years old, the other 7. The older brother turns to his younger sibling one morning and says, "You know what? I think we are getting pretty old these days. I really think it's about time we started cursing".
"Yea", says the younger brother, "that's a great idea!!"
"I thought so. So, next time we're down stairs, we'll throw in a curse word. Agreed?"
"Agreed"
So, the deal was made, and they waited.
Then the mother calls up the stairs to comeget their breakfast.
"Perfect", says the older one, "this will do nicely for a start"
Down they go, and sit at the table. Their mother asks the older brother what cereal he'd like.
"Awww shit Mum, I think I'll go for Coco Pops".
**WALLAP!!!!!** The brother is smacked across the kitch floor. Yelling, the mother oders him to bed.
With a stern look, she turns to the younger brothers and says menacingly, "And what would YOU like for cereal?"
To which he replies...
"Dunno... But it certainly won't be fucking Coco Pops!!!"

(Frickin' took me age to type that)

Hmmm... Fine - Seems like no one liked this one!! I'll have another attempt...

(For Tink and Shelly - "Quasemodo" is the hunchback guy from "Hunchback of Notre Dame". ;))

It was 1 o clock in the afternoon, but Quasemodo couldn't find his hammer to ring the bell. Freaking out, he decides to use his head. *GONG*. "Hey, that worked a charm. I don't need the hammer at all now", said Quasemodo.
So, along came 2 o clock, and up stepped our hero to the bell, and twice with his head, *GONG* *GONG*. "Brilliant!!".
So, on the hour, every hour, this was the new way to ring.
The day went on, and he kept using his head for the bell ringing. 12 midnight soon came, and he steps up beside the bell. He got to the 11th gong, and started feeling a bit off... He hits the last gong... *GONG*. But it was one too many. He stumbles about, and eventually falls out of a nearby window and plummets to the floor.
People crowd around him, shocked!!! "Does anyone know who this is??" one worried woman calls. "Not sure..." a nearby man said...
...
"... But his face rings a bell".

Eh? Eh?? No?? lol

((FAO Shelly and Tink: There is a popular phrase "His/Her face rings a bell." It means that something or someone stirs a vague memory. It's origin came from the fact that Clock Bells were, years ago, used to signal the start/finish of certain events (Church, school, etc etc). In this way, they were used as "Reminders". So the "Face rings a bell" meant that the face "Reminds" one of a person/place/thing.
So, in the joke, the punchline "His face rings a bell" was humourous because all day poor Quasemodo had been ringing the bell with his head.
Just thought I'd make sure you understood!! ;););)))

Still a cultural difference there - in England bells go 'ding' and 'dong' not 'bong' and I'd probably have understood it better if you'd spelt Quasimodo correctly! Not bad tho - for a beginner :p

Well, I would take my hat off to you and apologise over the "cultural difference"... Only for the fact that I used "gong" instead of "bong". I figured "ding" was too weak of a noise for a huge church bell, and thought "dong" was too close to "ding". Then I rememebered the 10 o clock news, where the bell from that sounded MUCH like a "Gong". So I think my choice was justified. :)
As for Quasimodo being spelt wrong, you can blame Google for that. I threw my version of it into the popular search engine, and it didn't say I was lying. Shame that. :( I always trusted google. It used to be my friend...
As for needing encouragement - You are very right. I don't. I enjoy annoying people without it. But it is always nice to know I'm appreciated. (Ta Mikey!! )
